John F. Stanoch FACFAS, FACFAOM

 

Dr. Stanoch is the founder and Director of Princeton Foot and Ankle Associates. He has been on staff at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro since 1980 and was the first surgical podiatrist to obtain operating room privileges. During his time on staff, Dr. Stanoch has served on a number of committees including the Biomedical Ethics Committee. For many years, he had served on the Medical Advisory Board of the Diabetic Treatment Center of the hospital. He also served many years in helping to plan the Annual Princeton Hospital Fete Run. He has lectured numerous times to the nursing staff, residents and patients.

 

Besides his hospital activities, Dr. Stanoch has been a consultant to the North Princeton Developmental Center, the Carrier Clinic and the Princeton Wellness Center in Montgomery. He has also taught walking classes at the West Windsor adult night school for many years. His Civic appointments include president of the Board of Health in Hightstown and a member of the Board of Health in West Windsor. Dr. Stanoch also served as a reviewer and consultant for a major medical malpractice insurance company.

 

Dr. Stanoch's main interest has been in biomechanics as they relate to human locomotion. He has co-authored papers that were presented at the International Biomechanical Conferences. He had also developed algorithms to assess computerized gait analysis. He had also worked on the design of a great toe implant for the human foot.

 

After the 9/11 attack on the World Trade Center, Dr. Stanoch worked as a medical volunteer through October and November 2001. Here he helped treat foot injuries incurred by the rescue workers at the site. For his work there, he was chosen as "New Yorker of the Week" by NY 1 news in November of 2001.

 

Dr. Stanoch is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery and by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine. He completed his surgical residency at St. Michael's Medical Center in Newark, NJ.


 

Josh B. Ottenheimer, DABMSP
 

Dr. Ottenheimer graduated from the University of Delaware in 1998 and received his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine in 2002. He completed his residency in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery at Jamaica Hospital Medical Center in Queens, NY where he served as Chief Podiatric Surgical Resident in 2003-2004. Dr. Ottenheimer is board certified by the American Board of Multiple Specialties in Podiatry. He is the team podiatrist for The College of New Jersey athletic teams. Dr. Ottenheimer is on staff at the University Medical Center at Princeton at Plainsboro, Acorn Glen Assisted Living, Princeton Care Center, and Memory Care Living. Dr. Ottenheimer is originally from Baltimore, Md. and is married with 3 children.


 

Peter Panagakos, FACFAS, FACFAOM, FAPWHc
 

Dr. Panagakos grew up in Brooklyn, NY and received his Bachelor's degree in Molecular and Cellular Biology from Rutgers University. Dr. Panagakos received his medical degree from the New York College of Podiatric Medicine. He completed a very distinguished surgical residency at Hahnemann University Hospital/Drexel College of Medicine, a busy level-1 trauma center. Dr. Panagakos is currently the Chief of Podiatric Surgery at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro since late 2013. Dr. Panagakos is one of very few surgical podiatrists to be triple board certified. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle in Surgery in foot and ankle surgery. He is Board Certified by the American Board of Podiatric Medicine. He is Wound Care certified by CMET. He is a Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons, Fellow of the American College of Foot and Ankle Orthopedics and Medicine and a Founding Fellow of the Academy of Physicians in Wound Healing.

 

Dr. Panagakos has extensive experience in all aspects of foot and ankle surgery, including trauma, reconstructive procedures and elective foot procedures. Dr. Panagakos is known for performing complex and revisional foot and ankle procedures for adults and children. His specialties include surgically managing bunions, flatfeet, tendon tears, foot and ankle fractures and arthritic conditions of the lower extremity. Dr. Panagakos also performs a variety of Arthroscopy procedures for the foot and ankle, where he can repair cartilage defects of the ankle joint and remove arthritic debris with a minimally invasive approach. Dr. Panagakos routinely provides conservative treatments to alleviate painful conditions for both adults and children. His in office procedures include Ultrasound Guided Injections, Ingrown nail procedures, Wart procedures, skin and nail biopsies and epidermal nerve fiber density testing for peripheral neuropathy.

 

Dr. Panagakos has published numerous journal articles on Foot and Ankle Reconstructive surgery. His research can be found in the prestigious journals of The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the Clinics in Podiatric Medicine and Surgery. He has lectured and demonstrated innovative surgical techniques to training residents in the NJ and PA area. He has presented research at The Annual Scientific Foot and Ankle Surgery Conferences multiple times. Dr. Panagakos is also a peer reviewer for multiple journal publications, most notably The Journal of Foot and Ankle Surgery and the Foot and Ankle Online Journal. In addition to English, he is fluent in Greek. His hobbies include sports, cooking and spending time with his family and loved ones.



Sachin H. Patel, AACFAS
 

Dr. Patel grew up in Bridgewater, New Jersey and received his Bachelor's degree from Rutgers University. He earned his medical degree from Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, where he graduated with several honors and scholarships. As Chief Podiatric Resident at Hoboken University Medical Center, a prestigious program known for its intense trauma and complex foot & ankle reconstruction exposure, he specialized in conservative & surgical treatment of various foot & ankle disorders from pediatrics through geriatrics. His expertise ranges from treatment of minor foot disorders to advanced surgical reconstruction of the foot and ankle including trauma, limb salvage procedures and elective surgery. Dr. Patel has completed courses in AO fixation, forefoot and rearfoot joint fusions, and foot & ankle arthroscopy. He is an Associate of the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and he is Board Qualified in both Foot Surgery and Reconstructive Rearfoot/Ankle Surgery. He is on staff at the University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. In addition to English, he is fluent in Gujarati. On a personal note, he enjoys photography, traveling and spending time with his wife, Priya.
